CASE STUDIES OF FEW BENEFITTING CHILDREN

Case Study – I: Amutha is 18 years old girl, resides at his uncle house in Madurai. My father died by road accident during rainy season. “My mother is a tailor earns Rs.50 (USD1) per day for her hard work. We have problem of special to live in Madurai city. We are not able to pay rent since we have meager amount of earning. I studied 10th, 11th and 12th standard with the support of Upakar Educational Society. I am also going for computer training, so that I will get job very soon and will save my mother”, she said.

Case Study – II: Aravindhan 14 years old boy joined the programme of Upakar Educational Society at his age of 11. He studies 9th standard now. He survives with his mother Panjavarnam in Madurai. His father divorced his mother and parted from his family in 2005. Panjavarnam works as domestic worker and earns Rs.30 per day. He has anti to get some moral support. His one of eyes has some problem.

Case Study – III: Sasikala is 10 years old, studies 6th standard. His father was drug addict (used more alcohol every day) and died in 2005. She has two elder sisters, they are studying at schools now. “We have no relation in Madurai, I have no proper clothing. I got good dresses during my father’s death – my relatives gave us some dresses as part of ritual of my father death”.

Case Study IV: Ananthavalli is a 10 years old girl studies 6th standar, survives with his Mother Tamilselvi, one elder brother Pattu Raja, one elder sister Agnimari, grandmother Petchiammal and with his uncle Soundhirapandi. Her father Madasamy divorced her mother and parted from her family. Her father remarried another lady now. Her brother Soundhirapandi has nerves problem and act as mentally handicapped some times.

Case Study V: Thanveer Singh is 18 years old boy scurvies with his father Eswara Singh, mother Suleckshnabai, one elder sister Munibai, one younger brother Balaji, one younger sister Heerabai. 11 years back, his father met an accident and his right hand was cut fully. But with much believes on upgrading the children at his family, Eswara Singh supported the boy Thanveer Singh to study at English Medium school in Madurai by selling toys in Periyar Bus station, Madurai. His mother looks after house work. As his father aims to develop the carrier of three children, his income is not enough. They resides at a rented building. The boy Thanveer Singh completed his school studies with the support of Upakar Educational Society from 2007 to March 2010.

Case Study VI: Thandeeswari is 17 years old getting computer skill training from Upakar Educational Society now. She joined the programme of Upakar Educational Society in 2007 and got financial support for continuing her schooling. She finished her schooling very successfully. Her mother Alagu is a labour in building construction. She has one younger sister – Pandiselvi goes for school. Her father met an electric sack during his work and died on same day. They resides in a rented building at Jeevanagar. “The training center of Upakar Educational Society is very near to my house, it is very easy to go to the training. I will join a dignified job in a business firm after my completion of computer skill training at Upakar Educational Society.”, the girl says.
