| “ I am Selvaperumal 18 years old, studied 12th standard in Computer science group at Madurai Corporation Higher Secondary school. I live with my own sister’s house at Rasukarikadai Compound, Sathiyasai Nagar, Madurai. My sister Krishnaveni is an illiterate looks after house work. My uncle – husband of my sister Elangovan works as load man – porter in Madurai and earns Rs.100 (USD2) per day for his hard work. Since his income is irregular, we have no enough facilities and food.
I didn’t ever see my parents, when I was baby they died. My sister and her husband are my parents. I have no any different feeling of love of parents. Because my sister gives all care of kiths and kinds. I plays with the two children of my sister. And so we are a total of five members in our family and lives at a rented house.
As part my schooling, I go to Mineral Water Sales Shop at every evening and get Rs.10 (USD0.2) per day for my delivery of water cane by cycle to the houses in TVS Nagar. In 2007 I got a good news of Upakar Educational Society’s support for helpless children and joined it and got benefit of both financial assistantships and computer skill training. I wish to become a computer operator in a good company and will save my sister and uncle”, the boy said. |
