Upakar Educational Society is a Non- Government Organisation (NGO) worked in the field of child labour, child rights, handicapped children and women development in Madurai district of Tamilnadu, India. Upakar Educational Society has been conducting education and health programmes for the working children engaged in textiles and garments industries, beedi rolling and in other hazardous occupations. It has been working with volunteers for the welfare of children.

Since its inception, it organizes programmes like child rights education at schools, child labour motivation camps, campaign on education for all children, environment awareness, AIDS awareness, health education for child labourers and school going children, General Medical Camps for the villagers, health education for women and general public, Family welfare programme. To create awareness among the illiterate, Upakar Educational Society organized Street play (Cultural programme) with focus on female infanticide, environmental cleanliness, Equality and AIDS, etc. Apart from this, in order to raise the income of the rural poor women, it organized skill trainings for Self-Help Groups from 1996 to 2005. Based on needs of the community and regional issues, it started and organized the above programmes.
